Painless and Practical Ways to Make Extra Cash!

There have been several times in my life where I have needed extra cash. From being a student to living in London where almost all my salary went on rent (to this day I still can't believe how much I spent on rent). Over the years I've found ways to make some extra cash.

As the cost of living continues to rise we are all looking for ways to make some extra cash. So without further ado let me share a few ways to make some extra cash.

Sell your skills

Think you about what your skill strengths are and considering offering them as a service. Are you amazing at Maths or English? Consider tutoring local children. Or do you enjoy caring for children? Consider babysitting. You could even sell your art work or writing?

Sell your unwanted items

Have a declutter and see what items you no longer use anymore and consider selling them.

I have found high quality clothing sells well on Depop. I have made around £50 selling unwanted clothing on Depop.

Facebook Marketplace is a great way to get sell unwanted items. If you make the items collection only you don't even have to spend money on postage. I have made around £70 selling items I no longer want on Facebook Marketplace.

Another option is to sell your items to a business. You can often get cash or store credit. I take my old books to Barter Book to get store credit. Which I then spend on books saving me money later on! You can read more about my experience at Barter Books here.

Online Surveys

There are several market research companies that will pay you for your time to complete surveys for them. Toluna and YouGov are two examples were you collect points which can be converted into a voucher.

The most time effective is Street Bees each survey is paid up to £1 with most taking less than 5 minutes to complete. So after several surveys it all adds up very quickly. I've made about £30 which can be a great fall back when money gets tight.

Loyalty cards

An easy way to make money whilst spend money. For example Boots Advantage Card, Nectar and Tesco Clubcard points are transferred into money (or vouchers) which you can spend instore.

So there you go a few tips to make some extra cash. Is there anything you do to make extra cash that I haven't mentioned here? We can all help each other out in the comments below!

I am not alone in this, as show by the increase in veganism and the availability of eco-friendly products. I'm not saying I'm perfect but I believe if we all make small changes we can make an impact.
